AUTO POLICY RELIEF INFORMATION:

The Canopy Group is proud to partner with our carriers to protect you and your family during these challenging times.  As our clients are driving less and facing financial uncertainty, we’re pleased to announce auto insurance program adjustments made by the following carriers:

Acuity: All existing personal lines auto policyholders will receive a rate cut for the entire next 12-month policy term at their policy renewal. Subject to regulatory approval, this amounts to a credit of 7% for most customers. The rate decrease will apply to all new and renewal policies with effective dates on and after March 11, 2020. Customers do not need to take any action to receive the discount - it will be applied automatically. For more information, visit acuity.com.

Auto Owners: Auto Owners will be providing a 15% return of premium for the months of April and May, subject to regulatory approval.  For more information, visit auto-owners.com.

Chubb: Chubb is providing its personal auto insurance clients in the U.S. with a credit on their annual renewal premiums as a result of reduced driving activity. Upon renewal, clients will receive a credit reflecting a 35% premium reduction for the months of April and May. Clients will not have to request the credit; it will be applied automatically at renewal. All premium and rate adjustments are subject to regulatory approval. For more information, visit chubb.com.

Encompass: Eligible auto costumers will get an average payback of about 15% based on their monthly insurance costs during April and May. Paybacks will go to customers with a policy in force as of 3/31/2020 and 4/30/2020, respectively. The payments will be based on the monthly premium as of those dates, subject to a $10 per policy per month minimum. New customers must have made at least one payment on their policy to be eligible. Nationwide: Nationwide is offering a one-time premium refund of $50 per policy for personal auto policies active as of March 31, 2020.  Customers don’t need to do anything. Refunds will automatically be credited to your most recent method of payment (for example, automatic withdrawal, credit card, personal check) within the next 30 days. We are offering this rapid relief at a time when many drivers are making the right choice to stay off the road and remain home to help “flatten the curve.”  For more information, visit nationwide.com.

North Star: North Star will be implementing a 1 year "Stay At Home Discount" on all personal and commercial auto policies. Current customers will automatically receive a 10% premium discount on policies renewing June 1st, 2020 through May 31st, 2021. This discount will also apply to new business during the same time period. These changes are pending approval from insurance regulatory departments. For more information, visit northstarmutual.com.

Progressive: Subject to approval by state regulators, Progressive personal auto customers who have a policy in force as of April 30 will be credited 20% of their April premiums in May and personal auto customers with a policy in force as of May 31 will be credited 20% of their May premiums in June. Customers will not need to take any actions to receive the benefits. The credits will be applied automatically to the customer’s policy and those customers who have paid in full will receive a refund of the credited amounts. Customers will see it reflected in their accounts within a few weeks after month end. If they have a balance on the policy, we’ll apply the credit directly to the remaining balance. And if they’ve already paid in full, we’ll return the money to the payment account we have on file. For more information, visit progressive.com.

PURE: PURE Insurance is committed to making a Reduced Miles Refund to all members with auto policies. Subject to regulatory approval in each respective state, members will receive a 15% credit on all regular auto premiums for the period of time from the introduction of each state's stay-at-home orders until they are lifted. As they are lifted, these credits will be refunded or applied to reduce any outstanding balance due to PURE. Note that, because PURE premiums for Classic Cars already reflect the low-to-no mileage of these vehicles, this credit will not be applied to Classic Cars. Secura: A 15% refund of April and May auto premium will be provided for eligible MILE-STONE policyholders, subject to regulatory approval. Each MILE-STONE policyholder in force as of April 20, 2020 with one or more personal autos on their policy would receive the refund. There is no action that needs to be taken by policyholders. Secura will notify eligible policyholders of the refund via email. Secura will also communicate the update through their social channels and on their website.  For more information, visit secura.net.

Selective: Selective is offering a 15% credit to both personal and business auto policyholders. Pending regulatory approval, customers with an in force personal and/or business auto policy as of April 30, 2020 and May 31, 2020 will receive 15% of their monthly premium for April and May applied to their account. Credits will be issued automatically and require no additional action by the policyholders. For more information, visit selective.com.

Travelers: Travelers has launched the Stay-at-Home Auto Premium Credit Program, which will automatically give U.S. personal auto insurance customers a 15% credit on their April and May premiums. It’s their way of supporting their customers, and they hope it helps ease some of the financial burden many are experiencing. Customers who pay by monthly installments will receive the automatic credit on future bills. Customers who have already paid their billing account in full will receive a direct refund payment. Travelers is working with regulators to obtain all the necessary approvals. For more information, visit travelers.com.

Westfield: Westfield Personal Auto customers will receive a 15% credit of their eligible monthly auto premium for the months of April, May, and June 2020. Subject to regulatory approval, customers with an active Personal Auto policy as of April 30, 2020, will receive the full credit to their bill in the month of May 2020. Westfield will take care of the paperwork; customers won't have to do a thing. For more information, visit westfieldinsurance.com.
